Dr. Tom Driscoll to Speak on the Game-Changing Technology of MESA™ Radars

Bellevue, WA -- April 26, 2018< -- Echodyne, the manufacturer of innovative high-performance radars for autonomous machines, announces today that its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Tom Driscoll, will speak on the company’s patented Metamaterial Electronically Scanning Array (MESA) radar technology at AUVSI’s XPonential Conference next week in Denver, Colorado. The new technology offers unprecedented detection capability and intelligent control for autonomous vehicles and unmanned aerial systems, and enhances public safety and security for borders and critical national infrastructure.

Dr. Driscoll’s presentation, “MESA: Radar Vision for the Autonomous Age,” is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 2 from 1:30-2:00PM in room 203 of the Colorado Convention Center. The session will address how this radically new architecture provides unprecedented detection capability and phased-array like performance, but at orders of magnitude lower Cost, Size, Weight and Power.

Echodyne will also be exhibiting in booth #1625 at the Xponential Conference.

“The central advantage of MESA over phased-arrays is that it does not require the discrete phase-shifters and associated electronics that make modern phased arrays so complex and costly,” said Driscoll. “This is a game changer for advancing and accelerating the pace at which autonomous machines go to market.”

Echodyne has attracted the attention of the world’s leading innovators and developers of industry transforming technologies including: Bill Gates, NEA, Madrona Venture Group, Vulcan Capital, and Lux Capital among others.
